Considering that such a large percentage of the population spends most of the day either bent over a desk or slouched in a chair, is hardly surprising that back pain has become such a popular topic of discussion. Not only can back pain become unbearable, but it can also place numerous limitations on the way we go about our daily lives.
Most people do not realize that as our daily lives change with the way we use our bodies, change must also be made in the way we tend to our bodies. Most back pain can be corrected easily and naturally unless there has been some type of trauma that has caused serious damage. Even then a simple exercise program will be able to reduce pain significantly.
Our backs are literally the backbone of our well-being and are incredibly important. Virtually synonymous with youth and vitality, the lower back supports much of our weight and is the key to maneuvering our bodies.
The lower back naturally curves inward, sustaining a huge amount of weight. Unfortunately, if the vertebrae in the lower back begin to slip out of alignment due to poor habits, stress and tension, pain will develop. Taking painkillers or having surgery is not the answer! When your back hurts, it is trying to tell you something important. Do not ignore the message by masking it with a quick fix with pills or overkill with surgery.
Confronting the root of the problem is the only logical answer; correct the posture. For many, the muscular endurance to hold their spine in proper alignment is too difficult to achieve on a daily basis. Others unknowingly tense up from stress, causing muscles to tire too easily.
The first thing anyone should do in order to get rid off back pain, is they should find and practice a suitable posture program in order to teach the body how to maintain proper alignment in a natural, comfortable position. By training your body to hold your back in a suitable alignment, you’ll be doing much in order to avoid repeated back pain.
While strengthening exercises can be extremely beneficial for strengthening your muscles so that they don’t become tired, stretching exercises will help to improve flexibility. Likewise, relaxation exercises will help you to relax tense muscles, although it should also be noted that ideally, one needs to have an overall body awareness program in place.
Awareness is the key. Following these simple rules to promote good health and a strong back, you will find a new confidence and have a pain free back. Be cautious to use good posture, strengthening, stretching and relaxation in unison or you will notice your bad habits returning. Working together increases their effectiveness. It is a change in routine to match our changing world so make these changes and notice the difference.
