Yoga accessories exist to help facilitate people into doing the poses required in a yoga class. No one is forced into these positions in yoga class. Yoga has a reputation for demanding flexibility, but yoga is not about flexibility at all. It’s more about creating a union between mind, body, and spirit. That being said, no one should strain themselves to be able to do certain yoga poses in one go. There’s certainly room for development, especially with more complicated yoga poses. You are not expected to deliver a perfect pose on the first try.
Yoga accessories exist to help yoga practitioners, particularly beginners, in the various yoga poses that they will encounter. One of these helpful accessories is the yoga strap.
A yoga strap is one of a number of yoga accessories that is available for everyone to use. It is particularly useful with beginners. These yoga straps are usually made from either cotton or nylon, and they allow you to grasp your limbs that you couldn’t otherwise reach as well as letting you hold a pose longer. An example of a yoga poses that would be facilitated by using a yoga strap is the Trikosana (to hold your feet when you still can’t reach it coming from the Downward Facing Dog), or stretching your shoulder s in the shoulder stretch exercises.
Having tools such as yoga straps to facilitate learning the poses takes the pressure away from perfecting poses in an instant makes it easier for the individual to concentrate on what should actually be done while at yoga: Unifying the mind, body, and spirit.
