Tips on Yoga Attire

There are many ads in yoga sites and print magazines about high-end, expensive yoga attire. While they are certainly fashionable, those types of clothing are not that necessary. When choosing what to wear to yoga, consider the following:

Comfort
Comfort and mobility are two important factors to keep in mind in choosing yoga attire so you need to choose a fabric that allows you to move freely. Stay away from thick and heavy fabrics, such as denim, as well as from buttoned or zippered pants. Draw-string waistbands along with short-sleeved or sleeveless tops are perfect enough.

Fit
Your yoga clothes should fit you well. Clothing that is too loose may get in the way of your movements while clothing that is too small may constrict it.

Bottoms
While pants are fine for yoga, shorts, however, allows you to have more freedom of movement. Just be mindful of the shorts length. During inversions and hip-opening poses, make sure you are wearing proper undergarments.

Feet
Usually, yoga is done barefoot, but you may also practice in socks. Just make sure that your socks have room to allow toe movements and provide proper traction.

In general, you don’t need over the top stylish clothes to practice yoga. When it comes to yoga clothing, simple is best.
