Some Like it Thick (Their Yoga Mats, That Is)

The yoga mat is an essential accessory/equipment for the serious yoga practitioner. It helps you to anchor yourself somewhat to the floor as you attempt to do your poses.
When talk to comes to the subject the thickness of yoga mats, I find that people really have their preferences. The standard-issue yoga mats have a lot of fans, of course. They’re super lightweight, easy to tote around, and it gives you a better feel of the floor (some people like that).
For some other people, a thick yoga mat (or an extra thick yoga mat, even) does the trick. Traditional yoga mats average around 1/8” in thickness, while thick or extra thick yoga mats are a rather thick at double that thickness. Beginners would likely appreciate thick yoga mats because they provide more traction and support as their hands and feet softly sink into the mat. Beginners are less steady and more likely to move around and are therefore of thinner yoga mats. The cushioning a thicker mat provides help them keep a stable and steady yoga posture. They are also more comfortable and help the individual adapt to new, more complex positions.
Another thing about having a thick or extra thick yoga mat is the added durability it has. These yoga mats, because they are thicker than standard, can withstand the abuse that the ordinary yoga mat can take. Cleaning thick yoga mats is easier as well, because you are not constantly barraged with thoughts of accidentally tearing your yoga mat and having to buy a new one. Many people who started with a thick yoga mat tend to stay with them since they are so comfortable. Of course, some have graduated to thinner yoga mats as well, but that is their choice.
If you feel like you’ve been having a bit of a challenging time with your usual yoga mat, why don’t you give a thick yoga mat a try? If that still is not enough for you, give an extra thick yoga mat a try. Who knows, that may be the key to your yoga success.
Astral Travel - The Secret For Beginners

The last time you were having a dream where you were flying, you were experiencing what astral travel was like. Astral travel is the way the astral body moves about in the astral plane, and it does so by flying. You simply think about where it is you want to go and what it is you want and once your physical mind and body are asleep the subconscious mind and astral body are off to fulfil your desires.
Many people confuse actual astral travel with dreaming. This is not to say that each and every dream a person has is an astral travel adventure. When you first go to sleep and begin to dream it is your minds way of working through the events of your day. This is when the mind is trying to work out various stresses or events that were not settled while you were awake. This helps to keep you sane. Few of those dreams are remembered, and if they are remembered it is only bits and fragments.
Whenever you can vividly remember a dream, rest assured you were likely experiencing some form of astral projection. No matter what you intend to do with the information, it is a good idea to recall these dreams as best you can and put them down on paper in a journal. While one or two of these dreams will not make sense to you, there will be time when you can go through several of your recalled dreams and they will make complete sense.
Just as those first dreams you have at night help your mind relieve stress and work through the issues of the day in order to keep you sane, astral travel has benefits as well. Which is why it is important that you keep track of those dreams that you remember very well. It is these experiences that can help you, the benefits will vary by the individual and that is because each astral travel experience is unique to the individual.
Generally speaking though, benefits to experiencing astral travel and keeping track of your experiences can include a deepening of spirituality. When we say this, what we are referring to is a deeper connection to the soul and the world around you. This promotes inner peace and feelings of well being. Another benefit to astral travel is that it can increase memory and creativity. This is because astral travel sparks activity in parts of the brain that we typically do not use.
An added benefit to astral projection is a boost in your psychic abilities. Those who practice astral projection claim an enhancement in their telepathic and precognitive skills, and also enhance their ability to sense spirits.
This is due to the fact that when you astral project and astral travel you are tapping into spiritual energies that you ignored before.
Even skeptics have been known to change their minds after practicing astral projection techniques, given the ability to read the auras of other people.
Finally, a fourth benefit that most people enjoy is the pure and simple excitement and adventure that comes with astral travel. The ability to go wherever it is they want to go and do what they want it is a freeing experience.
With all of these benefits to improve ones life, why aren’t more people practicing astral travel. The answer is that most people are under the false assumption that astral travel and astral projection are only for a gifted few. When the fact is that every person that is alive today has the ability to astral project.
It is a safe bet that you have astral traveled and not even realized that you have done it. Remember in the beginning you were encouraged to remember the last time you dreamt that you were flying, that was an astral travel experience.
Now that you know something about astral travel, you can allow yourself to experience these events openly. The next time you have an astral travel experience, try to control some aspects of it. A little practice at this and you will see your mental strength increase each day.
Don’t be afraid to give astral travel a try. Don’t deny yourself the pleasures of something you were born with but only have forgotten to use. Anyone can do it. You only need to browse the many ebooks and other information you can find online that teach techniques of astral travel. Learn to unlock the secrets of your inner self through astral travel!

Activities That Could Stimulate And Keep Your Brain At The Top

Diseases pertaining to the body’s nervous system such as the brain are a common problem among old people. The good thing though is that recent studies indicate that diseases such as these can be prevented by keeping your brain in good shape.
The human brain doesn’t have to age the way the body does. While our bodies may grow dull and frail, our brain has the capability to keep its best performance.
A great means of keeping your mind as sharp as it ever was is to simply make use of them often. Putting your mind in doing everyday chores can go a long way in keeping your brain at the top of its game
A great way in doing this for instance is to mentally add digits. Do this regularly and don’t rely on calculators for the task. This would make a good exercise for your brain.
Reading would make a great exercise for your brain as well. We tend to disregard this ability that it limits our knowledge about many things and dulls our understanding
Many professionals at their golden age can be found reading their favorite news and articles every morning. Many of them would even prefer it compared to television or radio. Reading remains to be a great way to relax as well as expand their knowledge.
You may also seek viable means of mentally stimulating your brain through brain twisters and puzzles that induces your brain’s higher functions. These are considered even more effective at keeping your brain on its prime performance as this challenges it in a way that ordinary situations wouldn’t be able to.
Its advantages will certainly prove critical in our golden age ahead. No one wants to spend it with a dull mind after all. A healthy and sharp mind would allow us to appreciate life and enjoy the fruits of our life long efforts.

Thai Massage Makes You Both Relaxed And Energized

If you have gone to get a massage recently, you might have been overwhelmed by the many choices of types from which to choose. Some therapies are new while others have been around for a long time and are just experienced renewed popularity. One such therapy that is becoming newly discovered is Thai massage, often referred to as Thai yoga massage.
Thai massage has its roots in the Buddhist temples of Thailand. It was performed by the Buddhist monks and nuns as part of their spiritual practice. Like Buddhism, it had its roots in India and, as such, its focus is on opening up the energy of the body, or prana.
Prana is thought to flow in lines, much like the acupuncture meridians of Chinese medicine. Through the Thai yoga massage, the practitioner helps to open up any blockages in those energetic lines. Once the balance of energy is restored, the client feels better as a whole and also may see improvement in any present medical conditions.
This therapy is called yoga because it actually has more in common with a type of assisted yoga than it does with what we normally think of when we hear the word massage. The main part of this treatment is stretching and, to achieve this, the practitioner will put the client into the yoga poses. The stretching is just one way that blockages in the energy are able to be opened.
Acupressure also plays a part in this therapy. By applying pressure to certain points, energy blockages can be removed. In addition, the points can be used to both balance the energy in general as well as to resolve specific conditions. This is common to other forms of acupressure as well.
Although the therapy was created thousands of years ago, it had fallen into disuse for some time. What was being marketed as Thai massage was often something that was watered down or nothing like its original form. In addition, in some areas, the term Asian massage has been used as somewhat of a euphemism implying incorrect practices thus confusing people. In more recent times, however, the traditional Thai yoga massage has achieved a comeback.
There are spas that offer this therapy but it is sometimes done on top of a massage table. You will still get benefit from this but it limits the way the protocol can be performed. If possible, it is best to get a treatment on a floor mat where you can benefit from all the stretching possible.
There are many benefits to be had from these treatments. As is typical with massage, you should feel more relaxed after your appointment. However, you will often feel energized at the same time. Circulation can improve, pains and aches can be removed and you will often feel an overall sense of better health.
Look for a practitioner of Thai massage if you have not yet had a treatment. It is worth experiencing. Some people find that they prefer them to the Swedish or relaxation massages that are more commonly offered.

If you think of yoga mats as being all the same, you would be very wrong. There are several different types of mats. Different styles for different situations, uses and budgets. Yoga mats can also be used for meditation so comfort when sitting should also be considered.
The first type of yoga mat you will find is the basic foam yoga mat. These mats are often made of PVC and tend to be fairly inexpensive. They are very durable, easy to clean and come in several styles and sizes. If you are environmentally friendly, these mats are not the right mat for you considering the materials they are made of. They also double as camping mats.
The basic yoga mats are often called sticky mats. They sometimes come with symbols on them which show you where to put your feet and hands. These type of mats are great for beginners who are still trying to learn the basic positions and movements. Sticky mats are very lightweight and easy to carry around. They also come in very thick sizes, which are great for people who like to jump from pose to pose. Before use, these mats should be sprinkled with water and laid out to air dry. They will be less prone to slippage after this.
Rubber mats are another type of popular yoga mat. These can cost a little more but they have more cushion and can be more comfortable to practice on. They also come in different colors and thicknesses. They are not the perfect choice for using outdoors as the sun can cause them to break down and peel.
Another good type of mat is one made from natural fibers like cotton and hemp. These also come in many varieties of sizes, colors and thicknesses. They are great to use because they absorb moisture and sweat. Practicing on these can be safer since they do not get slippery due to moisture. When placing them on a hard floor, be careful because they may slide.
One type of mat that might be up for consideration is no mat! No, this is not best for everyday use. But, in certain situations, if it is not feasible to carry a mat around, most any floor will do. The best things about using just the floor is that it will not cost you a dime!
Substitutes for yoga mats include yoga mitts. These are also called yoga paws. These are mittens for your hands and feet so you can do yoga without a mat. They are very useful for those who travel and they come in a variety of sizes. They do tend to slip when you sweat so you should be careful of that. People who travel a lot can also buy travel mats. They are lightweight and easy to fold and carry.
You can also find bags that are meant to carry your yoga mats. These all-purpose bags can carry everything you need; extra clothing, water bottles and towels. They are perfect for taking to work or on vacation.
A yoga mat is vital to the practice yoga. Yes, you can occasionally get by without one, but they are essential to the long term practice of yoga. They offer cushion and comfort and make yoga safer. There are so many styles, colors and types of yoga mats available today. Determine your needs and your budget and get the correct yoga mat for you.
Using yoga to relax is a great idea, but you will need the correct yoga mat to use. Look online for many choices of yoga mats to buy. Find the best now!
Is The Idea Of Being Able To Astral Project Just A Myth?
May 10, 2010 by David J Short

Many people believe that everyone is born with the ability of astral projection. Practice makes perfect and that is the only difference between those can and those who can’t. An ancient practice that believers say should be treated with the utmost respect, astral projection is similar to yoga and meditation. With several varieties and different forms of projection, this phenomenon has been around for centuries.
Lucid dreaming is the first level of astral projection. This form of dreaming is when you consciously dream and one type is astral projection. Many say this is a simple form of projection and that while you are dreaming, you begin by telling yourself ‘I am dreaming’
As you repeat this phrase, you can wake up in your dream and have the freedom to do anything you like. This may be difficult for beginners and may take time to practice before it works.
Astral projection is something you have done before, although you may not realize that you have done so. Have you ever awoken from a particularly vivid dream remembering every detail? You were not dreaming this ” you were astral projecting.
Believing that you can project is the key to achieving it. This faith eliminates doubts and fears about astral projection and helps you to easily achieve projection.
By practicing relaxation techniques including meditation, you can prepare yourself to astral project. Meditation is perhaps the most effective technique to prepare yourself to astral project. The important thing is finding a meditation technique which allows you to become completely relaxed.
If you are wondering where to begin when it comes to meditation, try sitting in a comfortable chair in a peaceful place. When you are relaxed, clear your mind, if stress or work pops into your head, push it out and focus on nothing. Focus on your breathing and make it deep and slow. Let your troubles leave your mind through your mouth as you breathe out. This will allow you to reach the relaxed state perfect for astral projection.
Now is the point where you need to reach an altered state of consciousness. You need to focus not only on your breathing but the way you are breathing. The breaths you take should come from deep down inside. As your breathing slows down, focus more and more on relaxing your body.
Focus on separate areas of the body, beginning with your toes. Tense each part of the body and relax as you work your way up from your toes to your head. As you exhale, tell yourself, ‘my arms are relaxing and I am relaxing.’
At this point, you will start to feel heavy almost as if energy is leaving your body. As you get to this point, and you are completely relaxed, you will know that it is time to move on to the next step of astral projection.
Youll find yourself so relaxed that it may be hard to stay focused; you might even be close to falling asleep! To prevent this and to stay working towards your goal, repeat a phrase to yourself. It doesnt matter what this phrase is ” anything that you can repeat to yourself easily will do the trick.
When the human mind is unoccupied, it will tend to wander; this will ruin the concentration you need to astral project. Just keep repeating your phrase to yourself and taking slow, deep breaths.
There are different ways to achieve a state of altered consciousness. You can repeat your chosen phrase or do it another way. Imagine a glowing light, and then imagine you entering it and transforming yourself into this body of light. This is referred to as the body of light technique.
You can count on experiencing three main feelings that will let you know that you have reached astral projection, the first is the sensation that you are moving. The second is when you see lights and colors with closed eyes and the third, are voices you hear that either encourage you to keep going or to stop, this lets you know that you have achieved astral projection.

It Is Never Too Soon To Develop ESP
May 7, 2010 by Mark Bullen

There are many ways to develop esp at an early age. Those talented individuals which are interested in accomplishing this task can do it. There are exercises available which are needed in order to clear the mind and begin the never ending learning journey to develop esp.
Other people in the family or friends that may be interacting with the child can tell when a child has the ability to develop esp. The mind of the child will have to function in an advanced sector when dealing with learning. When a child picks up simple things relatively easy, chances are the child’s brain is capable enough to develop esp early.
When a person that does not have mature senses of esp, chances are the child’s esp will not develop as quickly as a person that has the experiences. The best way for a child to develop esp, is in the stage of childhood after the child has passed the toddler stage. This way the child’s personality has already begun, and the basics such as walking, talking, and second phase emotions are already in motion.
Anyway, the mind’s eye is telling this young person that is attempting to develop esp, that the murderer can be found in the state of California. Reaction right away will not be needed. Do not send the authorities on wild goose chases because a child thinks he or she can develop esp. Do not work with the police right away, the skills will need perfected first. Waiting to find out if the development of esp is working properly is probably the most difficult part.
Later, the person that has chosen to develop esp can read the journal or notebook and use these past experiences to sharpen their skills. In most cases, when a person with esp warns others about a certain happening that in deed is going to happen, people will not believe the person with esp. This is because most people cannot fathom anyone being able to mentally use these senses. Perfecting the esp senses does take a huge amount of brain power, and often results in a head ache after the person that has developed advanced esp, uses their mind to stop a bad situation.
There are many other ways to develop esp. One thing to keep in mind is that every person performs esp senses differently, and for one person to lay out a cut and dried set of guidelines will not work for everyone. The best way to develop esp skills is to get to know yourself and how you do things.
The auditory sense, when perfected is quite unbelievable. A person can actually hear someone else talking. The sound of the voice is the only clue as to whom the person is. That person which is being heard by the developed esp auditory sense, can actually be heard when talking to another person. The person holding the auditory esp sense does not have to be in the area of the person talking. Some experts can hold an object such as a photo of the person, and when concentration is used, actually tune in to their conversation at that time.
There are many jokes and the ignorant do not have much faith in the esp theory, which is a very real psychic ability, so chances for successful development of esp, is to cut the ties with associates that do not carry the same amount of brain power as the apprentice esp user.

Extrasensory-What Is It?
May 7, 2010 by James Saxon
The subject which holds the explanations of what exactly extrasensory senses are can be very vague and allow too much room for misinterpretations. This is the case many times, when these senses are discussed amongst mixed company.
When mixed company are discussing something which deals with the psych such as extrasensory senses, this allows impostors that in reality are enemies of anyone with these abilities to expose their evil doings.
Extra sensory senses are a little more difficult to enhance because the brain is the central hub which holds all six of the known extrasensory senses. The brain and ways of thinking can be negatively effected by so many mind altering situations and consumptions that a person has to have one main goal to perfect these senses and not allow the ability of focusing these methods to be distracted by anything or anyone.
One example of good is when a terrible situation has happened and a child looks to their mother for guidance, because the child has no idea how to cope. The mother, being older says what her mother said, it will all work out in the end. In reality, the mother is just carrying on advice handed down through the generations, however how many mother actually realize why that advice is so true.
Now once the person has chosen intuition and wants to understand this extrasensory sense better. There has to be a personal protection caused by the aura, or when children are involved, children are most protected while close to their mother. Thus, protected by the mother’s aura. Once an aura cannot be penetrated, the aura does not diminish unless there is a head injury or a sickness that centers around or inside the head.
Although the state of mind is correct, because no living physical body can be immortal, the exception to the rule which begins with the psych lies totally undetected by those evil forces. To put this into a more logical perspective, the skills developed through extrasensory senses are only available for those physical beings which believe in a type of eternal life. Non believers of this eternal life existence, do in deed end all abilities at the grave.
There are no connections to these types of beings once their physical life has ended. When their soul has been confiscated by evil by means of material possessions or tempting situations, that individual has chosen not to participate in any life after death abilities and their soul most likely communicates with living evil forces. These evil connections cannot be proven like those of extrasensory abilities. In most cases, there are interferences for these evil doers to do more evil to prove what they say about their belief is true.
In conclusion, understanding the extrasensory senses and perfecting them is not as difficult as most believe, especially when the complexity of this entire world can have a perfectly logical explanation. Those that have these senses should not hide them, but should use them to fight evil forces that are shared in this world.

Developing Your Clairvoyant Powers
May 7, 2010 by Gina Eastman

Clairvoyant powers have always been shrouded in a lot of mystery and it is no surprise. People who are clairvoyant have been given a special gift that confuses and sometimes scares others who have no paranormal powers. Why? Because those with clairvoyance have knowledge of the unknown and those without powers can resent their ability to see into the past, present and future.
Specifically, clairvoyant powers refer to the ability to see beyond what can be perceived by the five basic senses. This extrasensory perception gives a clairvoyant person second sight, the ability to see people, events and objects that are beyond the happenings of the natural world, giving them the ability to know what will happen before it happens. Those who have truly harnessed their powers can even look backwards, this is known as retrocognition.
Clairvoyance has long been included in human history. It is not uncommon these days for psychics to give readings to individuals to help them solve some of life’s problems or to determine the right career path, or to find their one true love. Fortunately, there is no longer the inclination to be fearful or jealous of individuals with clairvoyant powers. Everyone has the ability at birth to become clairvoyant, but they must be willing to develop the powers they possess.
If you are ready to tap into your source of power and develop your clairvoyant abilities you need to clear your psyche. The best way to accomplish this is with meditation. Clairvoyants release a great deal of negative feelings, energies, and thoughts that seem to separate them from others. These thoughts and feelings can clog your internal sensors and can prevent you from seeing the truth.
By meditating regularly you can learn to sense and feel your inner strength and claim your true potential. Reject the negatives and embrace what’s positive. Once you learn how to meditate and let go of your stress, you will begin to feel more creative and happy.
Your meditation sessions should occur every day for at least 30 minutes at a time. It is important to choose a quiet place that has no distractions. Also, take care to choose a place that is free from negative energy. Some who are learning to open up to their potential may choose to meditate outside, allowing nature and the universe to help them release negative energies.
Take notice of your feelings as you meditate and use deep breaths to release the negative energies. This will help you become aware of any changes and natural vibrations that take place in the world. This is a skill that clairvoyant’s use to feel or see events before they actually take place.
You should also try to think like a child. It is a little known fact that all children are clairvoyant before logic and age tell them that such ideas do not exist. Learn to free your mind to pursue thoughts and ideas that you have always shut off before. Release your inhibitions and let all fear go, allow yourself to connect with the universe around you and realize that everything and everyone is connected.
In order to harness your more powerful energy and use it to further develop your clairvoyant powers, buy a deck of tarot cards. Both tarot cards and palmistry require the person receiving a reading to physically participate resulting in a more accurate reading and allowing you to better interpret the symbols that are appearing to you.
Start practicing your newly discovered powers by giving free clairvoyant readings. As you continue to meditate, you will begin to see the auras that surround people. Making you more intone with will happen in their lives and making you see deeper, enhancing your ability to perceive not only the present and future but also the past, the most difficult of clairvoyant powers to harness.
One area of clairvoyance that is rarely talked about is the ability to speak with the dead. In order to develop this area a person has to be able to let go of any fear of interacting with or seeing spirits. It might feel odd or even scary to speak with the dead, but there will be no risk of injury or harm coming to you. If you are able to communicate with those that have passed your clairvoyant powers have developed fully to the point of seeing and hearing those things that are closed to people without these senses.
As you travel this journey you will see that clairvoyance is a natural talent that can be possessed by anybody that takes the time to develop it. Look deep into your internal system to learn to change not only your life, but the life of others by developing your natural clairvoyant powers.
